The idea of setting up Devagiri Bank came in the mind of Late Pralhadji Abhyankar ji and the bank came into existence under the dynamic leadership of Sh. Haribhau Bagde, Late Shri Jayantrao Chaudhary (Dhamangaonkar), Late Shri Chandumal Chotlani, Late Dr. VG. Gharpure, Mr. Sukhdev Naule, Mrs. Kumud Rangnekar, Mr. S.G. Gokhale, Dr. M.U. Deshpande, Shri G.R. Rege took an active part in the establishment of the bank.
The first branch of the bank was opened on 23 January 1985. Presently, the Bank has operational areas in Aurangabad, Jalna, Ahmednagar, Parbhani, Jalgaon District, Pune and Mumbai.
The bank has thirty one branches, state-of-the-art training centre, a modern data center and head office. All the offices are air conditioned, well equipped, fully computerized and interconnected. Devagiri Bank is the first bank in Marathwada to opt for Core Banking Pattern. The bank is setting up ATMs across the city to provide round the clock banking services to its customers.
The Reserve Bank has opened up the entire Maharashtra as an operational area for us. The bank is also planning to tie up with state and national players to expand its network.
The bank has raised ₹26.63 crore paid-up capital, ₹207.77 crore reserve fund and other funds as on 31-March-2020. The bank has deposits of ₹ 1119.19 crore and advances of ₹ 645.79 crore. Thus the total turnover is ₹1764.98 crore.
